WJAX-TV Targets Veterans’ Medical Debt

Cox Media Group’s CBS affiliate WJAX-TV Jacksonville, Fla., spent $12,000 to wipe out crushing medical debt for local military families. WJAX also started the #RIPVetDebt campaign, in partnership with the non-profit RIP Medical Debt, to continue addressing the issue. Viewers and local businesses joined the cause. Efforts by WJAX have paid off more than $3.3 million dollars in local medical debt for veterans.
