WCVB Raises $420,000 on Veterans Day

Hearst’s WCVB Boston raised over $420,000 on Veterans Day for Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program that helps at-risk veterans and military families. The event ran from 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and featured live cut-ins and stories from military families about the care they have received from Home Base. Special appearances included recording artist and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Shaggy, Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh, and Brigadier General Jack Hammond (Ret.), who serves as the Executive Director of Home Base.
