Black Excellence 365 is a year-round initiative from Nexstar Media Group’s ABC 6 in in Augusta, Ga., that honors the contribution, kindness, innovation and selflessness of black individuals in their community. It is the station’s philosophy that the importance of recognizing black excellence is a year-round obligation. The station honors strong, forward-thinking representatives of their communities with the Mary L. Jones Black Affirmation Award. Recipients improve the lives of the people around them. They are passionate about what they do, and work tirelessly to translate that passion into meaningful, impactful change in the community.
