CBS Owned KYW-AM Donates Laptops to School

Topic: Community-Focused Initiatives

South Philadelphia High School received a brand new ten-piece laptop computer lab courtesy of CBS Philly’s KYW-AM Newsradio. A dual touch smart board was also donated to the school. John Middlebrook nominated South Philadelphia High School when he won the KYW Newsradio Comcast Laptop Daily Double contest.
This was the 12th year of the Laptop Daily Double giveaway, which is a partnership between KYW and Comcast. Starting in mid-September, KYW1060 listeners had two chances each day to win a laptop and nominate a school to win the computer lab. South Philadelphia High was chosen randomly from a pool of almost 50 schools selected by this year’s winners.
“It’s just another step to bring positive changes and make sure students are achieving,” said Principal Otis Hackney.
