KING-TV Collects 4.5 Million Meals During a Recent Food Drive

Gannett-owned NBC affiliate KING-TV Seattle held the 13th annual Home Team Harvest food drive to collect meals for those in need in the Western Washington community. The 2013 drive collected a record 4.5 million meals, which have been donated to hundreds of food banks and meal programs in Washington state. "We are so appreciative of KING 5 viewers who donated to Home Team Harvest," said Shelly Rotondo, CEO of Northwest Harvest, a local food pantry. "The need for food is high, but so is the generosity of people here."
