On Saturday, June 7, The Morning Mix from Hubbard Broadcasting’s 101.9 The Mix in Chicago, in partnership with Huggies, hosted a community diaper drive as part of a month-long campaign to raise awareness of a critical local issue: 1 in 2 Chicago-area families with young children struggle to afford enough diapers to keep their babies clean, dry and healthy. With Huggies matching every donation received, the community donated 150,000 diapers to support Share Our Spare, a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to providing essential items to children age 0–5.
“Local radio has the unique ability to rally people around a cause that truly matters,” said Chris Eagan, Vice President of Brand and Content for The Mix and Throwback 100.3. “We’re incredibly proud of our Morning Mix team, our partners at Huggies, and — most of all — our listeners who showed up in a big way to support Chicago families. This is what community impact looks like.”
