Los Angeles Stations Broaden Access to Election Information Across California

NBC4 and Telemundo 52 Los Angeles invited candidates to the 2026 Los Angelos mayoral and California gubernatorial debates, reinforcing broadcasters’ roles in informing the public. Candidates had to receive at least 5% of the vote in two credible public polls to qualify. “The debates will be presented commercial-free in English and Spanish,” the stations stated. In addition to airing locally in Southern California, the gubernatorial debate was carried across NBC and Telemundo stations statewide and streamed online, ensuring Californians access to important details surrounding the election ahead of the 2026 vote.
